The meeting between New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) and President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago, Florida is scheduled to take place just before Trump's inauguration. Mayor Adams is set to sit down with Trump on Friday to discuss the priorities of New Yorkers.

According to Adams's spokesperson, Fabien Levy, the meeting aims to be a productive conversation on how the city and country can move forward. This comes after Adams met with Tom Homan, the incoming "border czar," in December and expressed their mutual goal of preventing "dangerous individuals from committing repeated violent acts of violence in our cities across America."

The spokesperson also emphasized that Mayor Adams has shown his willingness to work with President-elect Trump and his team to benefit the people of New York City and that partnership with the federal government is crucial for the city's success.

It's worth noting that Mayor Adams is currently facing federal charges of fraud and bribery, for which he has pleaded not guilty. However, President-elect Trump has expressed his consideration of potentially pardoning Adams, believing that he was "treated pretty unfairly" in the charges.

Additionally, President-elect Trump has also met with Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) at Mar-a-Lago, and described the meeting as "fascinating", calling Fetterman a "commonsense person".
