Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr shared heartbreaking news on Thursday regarding the complete destruction of his childhood home in Pacific Palisades, California, due to ongoing wildfires in the region. Speaking to the media ahead of a game against the Detroit Pistons, Kerr reflected on the devastation that the wildfires have wreaked on his hometown.

"My family’s fine, my mom’s in good hands, but her house is gone," Kerr stated, highlighting the emotional impact of the loss. He described the scene in Pacific Palisades as "surreal and devastating," noting that the community appeared to have been almost entirely wiped out by the fires, which have claimed at least seven lives and damaged approximately 10,000 structures from the Pacific Coast to Pasadena.

Kerr recalled fond memories of the house, stating that his parents purchased it in 1969 and that he had recently celebrated his mother's 90th birthday there just this past summer. Despite the tough circumstances, he expressed gratitude that his family and friends had managed to escape the fires.
