 Republicans have expressed strong criticism of the recent sentencing of President-elect Trump, labeling it a "disgrace." On Friday morning, Trump was sentenced in New York City to an unconditional discharge after being convicted last year on charges of falsifying business records, a result of a lengthy investigation led by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. 

Despite Trump's attempts to postpone the sentencing, it proceeded just 10 days before his inauguration. The incoming president attended the court proceedings virtually, and Judge Juan Merchan stated, "After careful analysis, this court determined the only lawful sentence that permits entry of judgment of conviction is an unconditional discharge," indicating that this sentence would cover all 34 counts against Trump.

Senator Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee took to social media to express her outrage, calling the situation "a joke and a disgrace."
